When you open VS 2005 and try to connect to TFS 2008 you will see that you don't have that option. This is because by default the interface for connecting to TFS 2008 is not there for VS 2005. You need to install this. I faced the same issue and one of my friend gave me a link that gets this job done.Please follow the link and you will be able to get it done.
